Dental Treatment Under General Anesthesia
Dental treatment under general anesthesia is a method that allows all dental procedures to be performed in a single session, especially for pediatric patients, while they are asleep (unconscious). With this method, the child remains unaware of any symptoms throughout the entire treatment process, and the procedure is completed comfortably. Infections can progress rapidly in children, and tooth abscesses are common. When in-office dental treatment is not possible, decayed primary teeth are treated under general anesthesia to protect the child's overall health and the underlying permanent tooth bud. General anesthesia should always be performed in a hospital setting under the supervision of a medical professional.
